Head Varsity Coach
Coach Lienhard enter's  his 18th year as the head coach for El Camino Real in 2026 and 28th year coaching overall.  ECR won the 2025 Open Division City Section Championship for the first time in school history, and the schools 10th City Title! The 2025 team won 23 games and a WVL title going 14-1. 2024 saw the Royals lose 3-2 to Granada Hills in the quarter finals. In 2023 ECR lost 2-1 in 8 innings at Carson in the quarter finals. The Royal's came up short losing 2-1 in the semi-final game in 2022. The 2021 season saw the Conquistadores (Now the Royals), have an up and down season but ended up in the CIF City Section Open Division Championship game, losing to San Pedro 7-6. 
 
Coach Lienhard, has won Seven WVL Titles (2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2025 )and Five DIV I LA City Section Championsips (2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2025). Coach Lienhard was named "All Area Coach of the Year" by the LA Daily news in 2010, 2012, 2015, 2025 and "Los Angeles City Section" Coach of the Year in 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2025, and was also named the 2025 NFHS California LA City Section Coach of the Year!
 
Coach Lienhard has had 30 + players go on to play at 4-yr universities, four of which were drafted, Alex Mejia (2009) made his MLB debut 2017.  Eric Yang (2016) made his MLB debut with the Reds in 2024

Coach Lienhard was the Head Varsity Coach at Granada Hills Charter HS from 2006-2008, in which he led the Highlanders to Dodger Stadium three consecutive years for the Invitational Title, winning in 2006 and 2008. 
 
Prior to coming to GHCHS, Lienhard coached at El Camino Real HS as the Head junior varsity coach for three years. In those three years, the teams won two WVL titles and compiled a 69-7-1 record. Coach Lienhard also coached at Westlake HS, Mt Eden HS and Tennyson HS. 

 Personal 

Coach Lienhard prepped at Kearny High School in San Diego, CA, graduating in 1993. Lienhard attended San Diego City College before transferring to Cal State Hayward as a pitcher. Coach Lienhard received his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology (physical education emphasis) in 2000 from Cal State Hayward, and his Masters of Arts in Education from National University in 2006. Lienhard resides with his wife Anya, daughter Izabella & son Isaac in Porter Ranch, CA
